TWR shortwave radio programming began in Japan in 1999.

As satellite radio broadcasts became available in 2005, TWR began broadcasting Thru the Bible (also known as From the Pastor’s Study in Japan) and Back to the Bible, via satellite radio in partnership with BJapan. These programs are aired five and three times a day respectively, five days a week.
