Current Ministry Initiatives
TWR-Philippines’ ministry effectively relates its program content to specific audience groups by offering programs in different languages. In addition to Tagalog, TWR-Philippines also broadcasts programs in Ilocano, Cebuano, Hiligaynon and Waray-Waray to reach the people of the vast Philippines archipelago in their heart language.
Through TWR-Philippines’ programs, some of the issues and concerns in the Philippines that are being met include Biblical training for church leaders, spiritual needs of the people, marriage/family problems, domestic violence, out-of-school youth, drug abuse, as well as teenage pregnancy and abortion. TWR-Philippines also works with church leaders and various ministries in the Philippines to reach out to the listeners.
Home-made programs Mumunting Kutitap (Little Lights) and Absolutely 24/7 have been produced specially for children and youth respectively. These programs are very well-received, and each of them gets an average of 10,000 to 15,000 responses from children and youth annually.
TWR-Philippines also ministers directly to the listener, no matter who or where they are, by leveraging on a good mobile communications network, as well as available tools and technology. The team invites calls and text messages from listeners, and responds almost immediately. This method is especially effective in reaching out to youths, and has helped to counsel many who were in despair because of relationships, school, and family issues.
