Cambodia | “I Used to Dislike Christianity”
August 3, 2010
“I used to dislike Christianity, but then I found out that I was working for a Christian organization.”
These are the words of Pheakdei, a middle-aged man who became the security guard at our Cambodian office in Phnom Penh. Truly, God works in mysterious ways.
“I borrow a mobile speaker from the office, so I can listen to the programs while I’m on guard. Since then, I’ve listened to the Christian program produced by TWR-Cambodia, and I’ve found that I like it. It’s easy to understand.”
Pheakdei has been listening to Stories of the Potter, a new program that engages pre-believers in the Khmer language. Stories form the thrust of this program, which is specially designed to bridge barriers that hold back many Cambodians from coming to Christ – barriers caused by differences in world view, or misconceptions that the individual may have about Christianity.
“I remember in particular the story told about building one’s house on the sand. It made me think a lot about my own life. Thanks for letting me listen to it.”
The team in Cambodia has already received reports that, through this program, some have already come to accept Jesus in their lives! We continue to pray for Pheakdei, and hope that the Spirit will convict him to make a decision for Christ.
Prayer and Praise
Praise the Lord for using us and our program to bring many people to Him.
Pray for Pheakdei (and others like him), that God will bring them to a saving knowledge of Him.
