Blessing Foreign Domestic Workers
August 14, 2012
SINGAPORE — Last month, a few of our team members visited Yio Chu Kang Chapel to fellowship with Indonesian domestic helpers from the women?s ministry.
During a previous visit, the team had introduced the Megavoice portable audio players to the domestic helpers. The players contained programs by In Touch Ministries, in Bahasa Indonesia.
During the most recent visit, some of them shared their testimonies. Here are some encouraging stories.
One of them, Susanti, shared with us, ?I was born into a non-Christian family, but I have since given my life to the Lord Jesus Christ. I was recently baptized in Yio Chu Kang Chapel. I am thankful for the messages you have provided me. After listening to them, I have great peace in my heart. One Bible lesson which I hold close to my heart is the story of Nicodemus in John 3:3 where Jesus said, ?I tell you the truth; no one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again.?
About three months before I was baptized, God spoke to me in my dreams and reminded me exactly what He told Nicodemus; that I was to be born again if I wanted to see the kingdom of God. I was so convinced that heaven is real through this special message. I give thanks to God that His love for me is so great!?
Another sister, Debora also shared her story with us.
?I am delighted to be able to hear the messages by In Touch Ministries from the audio players provided by your ministry. They remind me again and again that God hears, He remembers, He sees and He knows my every situation. God is truly always with me. Now, I hardly feel sad even though I am far away from home and loved ones. I treat my employer?s home like my own and her family like mine. I also try to do my job to the best of my ability.
I am so thankful that my employer, who is also a believer, allows me to go to church every Sunday. This gives me peace and gives me time to think and reflect on God?s words and pray for His guidance. I thank God for all the brothers and sisters in In Touch Ministries. May God bless all of you!?
We thank God for what He has done in these sisters? lives.
Do pray that the work that has been started in Yio Chu Kang Chapel will be fruitful through God?s mercy as we see more and more lives touched by our efforts and partnership with them.
