Ever wonder how shortwave radio works in reaching hard-to-reach places with the gospel?

The Bible begins in Genesis 1:1 (NKJV) with, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.” In between “the heavens and the earth,” beginning about 35 miles above the earth’s surface, is the ionosphere.

Do I understand much about how ionosphere and how it is “ionized?” And, can I explain it to you?

Absolutely not.

I’ll leave that to TWR’s George Ross who gives a brief explanation in today’s Footsteps.

What I do know is that both AM and shortwave radio utilize the ionosphere at night so that their signals can travel great distances. So, while I don’t really understand the physics of the ionosphere, I have no doubt that God designed and created it, in part, to carry the gospel via radio around the world.
