Movie event helps bring gospel to China’s unreached
January 8, 2015
Singapore – TWR Asia experienced its highest turnout during the recent movie event in support of the Son-Lift project, which is sharing the gospel with unreached people groups (UPGs) in China.
More than 800 people came out to watch TWR Asia’s special screening of Exodus: Gods and Kings at The Cathay Cineplex on 3 January. Not only were the Grand Cathay and Hall 6 of the Cineplex filled with supporters, we also occupied another cinema hall at Bugis+ due to the overwhelming response.
“More than the targeted amount was raised through supporters that share the same vision as TWR,” said Eugene Lim, TWR’s Senior Global Fundraising Advisor. “The response was overwhelming as we were not expecting such a big crowd.”
The money raised from the event will help fund the second phase of the five-year integrated media project, reaching an additional 34 UPGs. Last year, the movie event helped fund the first phase of the project, which is currently reaching 40 UPGs in China.
The entire project will eventually have programs in 15 languages to reach more than 100 million people—two-thirds of China’s UPG population.
UPGs are the final frontiers of the Great Commission. Thank you to those who participated in this event and helped share the hope of Christ with China’s UPGs. Although the 2015 movie event is over, you can still support this outreach to China’s UPGs. If you wish to support the project, click here.
