Rediscovering Bible on the Air
June 17, 2015
UNITED STATES — I am originally from El Salvador and have been listening to you since I was a child. My parents always listened to the program … around 1974. I was raised listening to these wonderful teachings.
Because of the war, I left the country when I was only an adolescent. I have been living in the U.S. for more than 20 years. To my great surprise, one day I was listening to Radio Nueva Vida here in California and heard the program A Través de la Biblia (Thru the Bible in Spanish). It gave me such joy and pleasure.
Even more surprising was when I was working for Los Angeles County in a home for the aged and one of my patients was listening to Radio Nueva Vida at 9 a.m. It was a great surprise for me. There was A Través de la Biblia. I said in my heart, “Glory to God.”
Since that time, I became aware of your email address. A lady gave me a study guide in which I found your address. Now I can write and give thanks to God for this.
A few months ago in my church, I was given the responsibility of teaching the youth, and I really want to teach them. For this reason, I would appreciate your sending me the Bible studies. I would like to receive them by email. …
May God continue to bless you.
Facts about the United States*:
- Often referred to as a “nation of immigrants,” the United States has the largest, most diverse immigrant population of any country on earth.
- Hispanics now make up the largest minority population in the U.S., and although Catholics outnumber members of other denominations by far, the percentage of evangelical believers has risen rapidly.
- In partnership with TWR 42 years ago, Thru the Bible branched out into international ministry with programs in Spanish, which continue to be widely broadcast today across the Western Hemisphere. TTB versions are now available in more than 100 languages.
