Still reeling from the aftermath of strongest earthquake to strike in more than 200 years, people in the impoverished nation of Haiti continue pleading for help. Thousands are presumed dead and untold numbers are injured in and near Port-au-Prince, the country’s capital, where Tuesday’s aftershocks caused widespread destruction of property and communications channels.

TWR broadcasts Creole-language programs Thru the Bible and Project Hannah’s Women of Hope on several local stations in Haiti. Listeners in the country also hear Thru the Bible in English.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Haiti in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake there yesterday,” says TWR-Americas International Director Tim Klingbeil. “We are particularly concerned for our Project Hannah production team located in the Cap-Haitian area, and for the staff and teams of the two strong Christian stations in the country, Radio Lumiere and Radio 4VEH. Please pray that God will use these broadcasting outlets to minister hope and help to the people of Haiti in the midst of this crisis.”
