Oral Communicators
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? (Romans 10:14)
There are about 6,900 living languages in the world today. Of these, 2,269 are spoken in Asia alone, making Asia the continent with the largest number of languages and speakers in the world (Source: www.ethnologue.com). People from oral communities remain connected primarily through stories, narratives, songs, proverbs and parables. TWR-Asia brings the Bible and the gospel to oral communicators in a language they can understand, by producing and delivering contextualized programmes that they will be able to relate to, and by ministry follow-up.
