TWR-Asia: Australia

Projects

TWR-Australia is involved with a number of projects with TWR-Asia. Some of the key projects are highlighted below.

Radio Church Kits
The Church in China is one of the fastest growing in the world, even though only a small percentage of the country is Christian. Pressures from outside the church remain for China’s believers, as well as from the inside, such as false doctrines and practices preying upon young and often under-educated congregations. Chinese Christians need leadership and guidance, but trained pastors are scarce and, in many regions, Christian materials are difficult to obtain.

TWR started its Radio Church Kit project in 1994 to supplement radio broadcasts for China’s house church leaders. Each package contains a radio so that they can listen to Discipleship on the Air, Self-confrontation and other training programmes, as well as a Bible and Christian literature. With these, church leaders can be trained in solid biblical truths. This enables them to help disciple their congregations and spread the gospel throughout China. Since the project began, TWR has distributed more than 85,000 RCKs to house church networks inside China. With so many coming to Christ without the guidance of experienced believers, more kits are needed every year to combat false doctrines and raise up new leaders.

Project Hannah
Millions of women worldwide are ensnared by fear and despair. They battle abuse, discrimination, even persecution. Many times, they are unwanted and unloved from the moment they are born.

Through Project Hannah’s inspiring radio broadcasts, and the prayers of intercessors across the globe, countless women are discovering that Jesus Christ knows them, cares for them, and offers them true peace. Christ’s love and hope enable them to live above their desperate circumstances.

The radio programs also focus on a wide variety of health topics with targeted information to meet the unique needs of the women across Asia. These topics include basic medical information, family and maternal health, as well as practical lessons and tips for daily living.

As we receive feedback, we learn what the most vital needs are, and are able to address them through the radio program. With the support of donors, we are able to ensure radios are placed in the hands of women who are most in need of support and information.

Mumunting Kutitap (Little Lights)
Little Lights is TWR’s remarkable radio program for children in the Philippines. It is a holistic radio program for children, and meets the social, emotional and physical needs of children. It also educates them about the arts, sciences, and gives practical help and emergency-preparedness, plus object lessons and a bible-based introduction to Christ through dramatised bible stories.

Little Lights is a far-reaching children’s radio program in the Philippines. Produced in Tagalog, it is broadcast from over 100 stations across the country.

Thanks to gifts from donors, Little Lights was able to work in partnership with the National Disaster Coordinating Council and the Office of Civil Defence to give not just targeted and strategic disaster preparedness information, but also practical help about what to do before disaster strikes, and during disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes and floods.
